Class Rules and Procedures

These rules and procedures are designed to promote a cooperative learning environment.

Basic Classroom Rules:

1. Follow directions immediately.

2. All PND school rules and policies apply. These are in the online student handbook.

3. Have your materials with you when you come to class.

4. Keep conversation on task and appropriate.

5. Show respect for your fellow classmates, instructors and equipment at all times.

6. Have your flash drive with you every day. Save EVERYTHING on a flash drive, even class notes. Back it up at home.

7. If you need help, please ask.
*We expect you to read all project directions, watch tutorials (on and try to figure it out before asking for help. If you get frustrated, please stop and ask for help.

Grading Procedures:
  • Trimester grades will be based upon class projects, wiki discussion posts, quizzes/tests, participation and a final trimester project.
  • Grading rubrics will be posted on this website.
  • If you do not finish a project on time, we expect you to submit what you have completed. If you need more time, you need to e-mail Mrs. Strauss and Ms. Connon with the reason.
  • If you lose a project for any reason, you are expected to do it over.
  • You are expected to complete assigned discussion questions on time, posted in the correct place on this wiki.
  • This is a project-based, student-centered course. You will spend most of your class time working on projects. Projects need to be turned in on time.
  • All assignments must have the file name in this format: hour-lastname-assignmentname. Example: 2-smith-soundfx. We will deduct points for not using this format. It is difficult to distinguish the author of a project without the name on the file.
  • Points will be deducted for late work and off-task computer usage.
  • No late projects will be accepted after the last full day of class before the final exam.
  • The final project is due at the end of class on the day specified on the class Calendar. We will not accept late final projects.
